Both can be sourced from fish, fish oil or marine microalgae. Salmon, mackerel, cod liver, sardine, herring and menhaden are good sources of both.

MWH: If two of your acids are found only through fish and aquatic plant, how then will the vegans get their portion?

Omega-3: Dietary supplement is the answer to your question. Vegans or vegetarians can source their EPA and DHA from supplements made from marine algae. In fact, fishes too get their DHA from the same source. Nutritional supplements are standardised, and extract only the essential components directly from algae bypassing fish altogether, making it available to all vegans. Dietary supplement is a way to help combat deficiency or the problems caused by the deficiency.

MWH: We have leant that fish could possess cancer causing elements like mercury. So, it is true that only those supplement who source their DHA from organically grown algae are safe, right.

Omega-3: Fish could carry some harmful elements from the ocean. The dietary supplement who source their DHA only from organically grown algae bypass both, fish and aquatic chemicals, and are the safest from all other supplements.
